Report Content：The concept of a digital twin, i.e. a virtual replica of real systems, is gaining importance in many areas of industry and science. Its application in the management and protection of the marine environment is particularly promising by its wide implementation in the monitoring and management of infrastructure such as wind farms, oil rigs, ships and ports and specifically in its protection. Due to this technology it is possible to monitor ecosystems, predict environmental changes and identify potential threats. It also provides a deeper understanding of the complex interactions within the marine environment, which supports decisions about its conservation and sustainable resource management. The Hel Peninsula Hydrodynamic Monitoring project is the first step in building a digital twin of the Polish coastal zone as an essential part of South Baltic Sea coastline. In the presentation some details regarding the monitoring system installed, data gained and its processing will be discussed.
